DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES IN ESQUIMALT HARBOUR

There is a lot of activity in Esquimalt Harbour these days.  Please contact QHM Ops on VHF Ch 10 before departing, entering the harbour, diving or starting your engine.

In the CFSA Marina water lot there will be increased activity as environmental surveys are conducted there over the next month or more: You can expect:

  • Golder will be conducting sediment sampling beginning Wednesday 11 September
  • Golder will be doing dive surveys beginning 3 October

Outside of our lot there is a great deal of diving operations, surveys and activity going on.  There is also a lot of underwater blasting that is continuing almost daily - including on weekends.

Please contact QHM Ops on VHF Ch 10 before departing, entering the harbour, diving or starting your engine.

QHM should alert you to any work or dangerous activity in the harbour.  Please continue to be vigilant and watch for dive flags and boats that may be approaching you to warn you off dangerous situations
