PHRF TOT/TOD (Time on time, time on distance) explained

Here's some reading for those who are interested in scoring for the racing fleet. We score races 3 ways:
- Around the buoys is time on time.
- Distance races with a known distance are time on distance
- Lastly, we do pursuit races where the formula is used to determine the time each rated boat should take for the known distance and from that a starting time is determined. The idea is that theoretically all boats should finish at the same time. Finishing is determined strictly by the order of finish.
