Junior Race Team (Youth Sailing Club)

Times: Wednesday 4:30-6:30 and Saturday 11-2
Dates: April 7 to June 27 & September to November
Cost: $150 per month

Train for regattas and higher level competition under the supervision of experienced Sail Canada coaches.
This team meets April - June and September-November. We sail Optis, 420's and Lasers.
Ages 7 and up are welcome with a CANSail 2 qualification or higher.
Wednesday 4:30-6:30 and Sunday 11-2, rain or shine.
What you need to know: 

• We practice Sundays from 11-2 and Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 
• Ages 7 and up are welcome with a CANSail 2 qualification or higher. 
• We will have registration for each month in case of cancellation due to COVID so please register for all 3 months that you intend to participate in 
• We sail in Optis, 420's and Lasers. 
• The cost is $150/month

Our instructors are nationally certified through Sail Canada and trained in how to teach sailing, as well as first aid and boat rescue. We follow the Sail Canada CANSail curriculum of instruction. During November, when it is too dark to sail we will work on theory to achieve our CANSail levels, fitness to improve our athleticism, and maintenance to help everyone take care of their boats. 

You are not required to work for DND nor be a member of CFSA to take part in our Fall Race Team program, but you will probably find that you enjoy sailing so much that you will want to join and benefit from the perks of membership!
