⚓ Community Spirit at CFSA: Checking on Each Other’s Boats This Winter

As the cooler months roll in and the docks quiet down, this is the time of year when our sense of community really shines. Many of us can’t be at the marina as often as we’d like, but a quick walk down the docks and a glance at our neighbors' boats can make all the difference.

A line that’s worked loose, a fender out of place, or a bit of pooling rainwater — small issues like these can turn into bigger problems if left unnoticed. Taking a few extra moments to check on the boats around yours helps everyone enjoy peace of mind through the season.

This winter, consider setting up a “buddy check” system with a friend or dockmate. Having someone who can take a quick look at your boat when you’re away — and doing the same for them — is a simple way to stay connected and keep all vessels safe. It’s also a great excuse to stay in touch, share updates, and keep that sense of teamwork alive even in the off-season.

If you notice something that doesn’t look right, reach out to the owner or a member of the executive. It’s never an intrusion — it’s what makes CFSA a community rather than just a marina.

Let’s keep that spirit of camaraderie alive through the winter. A quick look, a friendly message, and a shared eye for detail help protect all our boats and the club we love.

Together, we keep CFSA safe, afloat, and ready for another great season ahead.
