Dock Talk

We retrieved a small white tarp from the east end of the bay. If you have lost yours, it is on A dock in the workshop in the fridge room, on a chair beside the metal cabinet on the left when you go in.

Starting at 0900 we will have the rest of our new Fingers craned into the water at D jetty in Colwood. While we get the mounting brackets installed on A dock, we're going to store the fingers at D dock and will require a few sets of hands throughout the day as we receive the fingers from the crane at D jetty and then (potentially) tow them across the harbour to secure them in Lang Cove. This doesn't require many more than about 6 people working at a time, but will likely be an all day affair.

BBQ lunch provided to volunteers. Please meet at 0900 on A dock so we can talk ground rules on boat use inside the harbour before we head out.

Please RSVP so we can plan appropriately. It's not likely to be a fast paced day and totally fine if you can only help out…

Hi everyone, there’s a few last minute things to get done before Thursday when hinges will get installed for the new fingers on A dock. We like any one comfortable with using a grinder to come give us a hand tomorrow after work (4-6pm) with finishing.

Big things are happening in the next month! We've started to prep A dock for the installation of Fingers and will soon shift them from their storage location in Colwood to Lang Cove for installation.

What this means for you:

1. The western side of A dock will have work underway sporadically as our rock anchors and brackets are installed. Please don't park any boats there. There will be machinery working on A dock, so be aware that you might not have unfettered access at all times.

2. While our volunteers did a great job grinding down some metal protrusions today, there is a possibility that anything coming in contact with the west side of A dock could be damaged by either bare concrete or that metal.

3. For the reasons above, club boats going to/from A dock should be parked on the East side, next to Volovent III (pictured)
